Pioneers and craftsmen in the art of growing plants for nearly 100 years.
In 1926, Harry Rosedale Sr. had a vision:
To make plants stronger and more beautiful for the home gardener.
We are proud to call ourselves Craftsmen because it's the term used to describe people who use their hearts, minds, and hands to produce beauty.
The way we grow plants is truly a craft—a blend of art and science developed over decades of observation and innovation. Our desire is to grow plants so healthy and beautiful that they will improve the land wherever they are planted. We thank you for caring enough to add our plants to your garden or landscape.
Since our founding in Southern California by Harry E. Rosedale, Sr. in 1926, we have been absolutely dedicated and obsessed with quality. We now have separate nurseries in various regions to deliver plants throughout the country.
Check out our guide to new and newer plants in the 2024 Distinctive Selections Guide. It offers an in-depth look at our most anticipated and favorite plants of 2024.
This 82-page online book features nearly 250 plants that, like all Monrovia-grown plants, have been carefully trialed and tested; only the best plants make the cut. There's something here for any garden challenge, collection, or space.

Jupiter_Rosemery | In my garden, the lavender flowers are happy delighting the hummingbird, birds, and bees. Also, I cut some for a soothing cup of tea or to crown my shower head for an infused relaxing aroma shower.
