Winter snowfall is a fundamental part of a plant's yearly water supply. In many parts of the U.S., winter watering is a good idea, especially if you have young plants. Watering plants during these freezing months is a given during extended periods of dryness.
Cyanea heluensis was discovered by botanists Hank Oppenheimer and Jennifer Higashino. Hawaii’s Department of Land and Natural Resources poetically stated it was found “in the deep shade of a healthy ohia forest.”
